War in Lahad Datu: When the facts raises questions

So far, 2 policeman were killed and another 2 were injured and currently hospitalized due to the fights and battles with the Sulu invaders in Lahad Datu. Everybody got the news, people share posts about this on facebook and twitters. So, there's no need for me to blog about the same thing here...

Honestly, I have many questions regarding this matter and the questions somehow making me feel less worry or anxious about this whole war thing. Well, of course I'm scared to death thinking about random ambush and killings going around KK since the invaders are quite well know with their war spirits and violence... but why does it has to happen now? It's only 10 days away from election and suddenly situations in Sabah turns chaotic and hectic. I feel like I'm watching a live Zorro movie without Zorro in it..

Here are few facts regarding this matter (broadcasted in the local news, non-politically biased)

  1. Lahad Datu was invaded by a 100 so-called Royal Army of Sulu early February
  2. Numbers of the Sulu army increases in Lahad Datu since the invasion
  3. Government attempted to negotiate with the invaders
  4. Harris suggested that gov should just give the Sulu RM200mil to safeguard the friendly relationship with the neighboring country
  5. When negotiation failed, gov left the decision making to the Police Force
  6. Gov only decided to send over the army after the death of the 2 policeman
  7. Philippines told the invaders to surrender with no condition

My questions are

  1. How did the first 100 invaders manage to penetrate our sea defense?
  2. How can the numbers of the invaders increased? Did local Sulu in Lahad Datu and decided to join the army? Or did they too know the penetration secret like the first 100 men did?
  3. If the Philippines never recognize the Sulu Royalty, why should we do otherwise? Don't u think giving these militants RM200mil will only allow them to arm themselves with more sophisticated equipment for better preparation for the next future invasion?
  4. If police fought the invaders, who protected the remaining curfew locals?
  5. Don't our country have enough military equipment to go against the invaders and stop the war once and for all? Or do we have to vote for gov first as our begging act to plead gov to rescue us from the war?

These are rhetorical questions, so no need to answer. Like most of u, I also have more questions and personal opinion in mind regarding this, but sometime it is best to keep some thing for ourselves. You know... giving ourselves the benefit of the doubt.

Another thing is, I think sending the police force over for defense purpose was a good idea. I'm not sure how all the protocols work, but by sending over the police force, we are delivering message to the invaders that we are ready to serve and protect the people and the country just in case they're thinking of making attacks on the people. The invaders made a huge mistake by being aggressive against the police force. Their aggressiveness allowed us to make a counter-attack for self-defense purpose using the army force instead, because their aggressiveness delivered a message that they are the ones declaring war against us. Good plan from the police force, but still... it would've been better to hear our PM instructing the police force to do so, instead of leaving an impression as if he didn't know what to do and decided to leave the decision making on the police force.

That's all, goodnight everyone. :)
